Welcome to Ethelruth.com! I really appreciate you taking the time to check out my little blog about everything home and family. I have a couple of confessions to make.
First, I am not Ethel Ruth! My name is Debbie and I am a 38-year-old stay at home mom of two little guys (5 and 6 currently) from central Missouri. Ethel was my grandmother. She was a share cropper’s daughter, a farmer’s wife, mother of six, and she meant so much to me. When she described her early life to me it sounded a lot like Little House on the Prairie – full of hard work, one room school houses, kids and livestock running around. This blog is dedicated to her and all the things she taught me.
Second, I am kind of a nerd. Not a computer nerd ironically, but you never know what the future holds! I earned a degree in biochemistry from the University of Missouri and worked as a scientist for a decade before I chucked it aside to raise my babies. I believe education is extremely important. That’s pretty nerdy- right?!
I created Ethelruth.com as an outlet for all the interesting things I come across and learn navigating life as a woman, wife, and mother. I get excited about the most random things such as crafts, canning, DIY projects, organization, but you never know what will catch my eye! My vision for Ethelruth.com is a website that is a great resource for ideas and a time saver for anyone attempting to survive the crazy, busy world today.
Thanks so much for your interest in me and my website. I would LOVE to hear any of your thoughts or ideas. Please contact me via my contact page or sign up for my weekly newsletter which includes my new postings and links to some pertinent other postings as well. I can’t wait to hear from you!
